"The Volt is symbolic of GM's strong commitment to the future ... just the kind of technology innovation that our industry needs to respond to today's and tomorrow's energy and environmental challenges."<br /><br />Form follows function<br /><br />The design of the Chevrolet Volt production car has evolved from the original concept that was unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.<br /><br />Because aerodynamics plays a key role in maximizing driving range, GM designers created an aerodynamically efficient design for the production vehicle. Many of the design cues from the concept vehicle endure in the production Volt, including the closed front grille, athletic stance, rear design graphics, outside rearview mirrors and more. The Volt's rounded and flush front fascia, tapered corners and grille are functional, enabling air to move easily around the car. In the rear, sharp edges and a carefully designed spoiler allow the air to flow off and away quickly. An aggressive rake on the windshield and back glass help reduce turbulence and drag.<br /><br />Working closely with GM aerodynamicists to shape the Volt, design and engineering teams developed one of the most aerodynamic vehicles in GM's history. They spent hundreds of hours with the Volt in GM's wind tunnel, testing and re-testing parts such as the front and rear quarter panels, rear spoiler, rockers and side mirrors. Aerodynamic improvements enabled GM to reach the Volt's target of driving up to 40 miles (based on EPA city cycle) without using gasoline or producing emissions.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car Wallpapers</b></div><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZpNxysCMvZc/TilTRyOUe5I/AAAAAAAAIXE/dQ7Bdi0e-Q8/s640/Chevrolet+Volt+Production+Show+Car+Wallpapers+1.jpg" border="0" height="480" width="640" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car </td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kUv773W7h3s/TilTUS5MaNI/AAAAAAAAIXI/600rcz5oB3I/s640/Chevrolet+Volt+Production+Show+Car+Wallpapers+2.jpg" border="0" height="480" width="640" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car </td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DCW7DH1v8dg/TilTXm4GO_I/AAAAAAAAIXM/kjUjIJeqAKk/s640/Chevrolet+Volt+Production+Show+Car+Wallpapers+3.jpg" border="0" height="480" width="640" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car </td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O4bKz10FB-o/TilTafVbP8I/AAAAAAAAIXQ/g1fJ_-ifK8Q/s640/Chevrolet+Volt+Production+Show+Car+Wallpapers+4.jpg" border="0" height="480" width="640" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car </td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Mmn9UJYvSXs/TilTctYQsQI/AAAAAAAAIXU/dwuuuDIhgdI/s640/Chevrolet+Volt+Production+Show+Car+Wallpapers+5.jpg" border="0" height="480" width="640" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car </td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--J0TApEkG1I/TilTe_9LZ7I/AAAAAAAAIXY/JonTCY853_M/s1600/Chevrolet+Volt+Production+Show+Car+Wallpapers+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--J0TApEkG1I/TilTe_9LZ7I/AAAAAAAAIXY/JonTCY853_M/s640/Chevrolet+Volt+Production+Show+Car+Wallpapers+6.jpg" border="0" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Chevrolet Volt Production Show Car</td></tr></tbody></table>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3872119923261644604.post-78136736197746120142011-09-20T23:38:00.000-07:002011-09-20T23:39:23.056-07:00Koenigsegg CCX CarsThe Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined roadster from Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg. The CCX has been engineered to comply with the U.S. regulation and market demands and is a newer design that replaced the Koenigsegg CCR.<br />CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coup X; the X commemorating the 10th anniversary (being the Roman numeral for ten) of the completion and test drive of the first CC vehicle in 1996.<br />The CCX was first unveiled on February 28, 2006 at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show although its existence was announced earlier. A derivative known as the CCXR is available, the main difference being that CCXR's engine is tuned to run on biofuel. The different fuel and tune allows the CCXR to produce 25% more power than the CCX.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_yoN9iRjWkA/Tj-TohsU1KI/AAAAAAAACf4/QfvnnOKGsss/s400/koenigsegg-ccx-side-view.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5638387582939485346" border="0" />Koenigsegg CCX<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SRZ0Iggz6ew/Tj-ToaFq2cI/AAAAAAAACfw/_OjRkCzcnSM/s400/koenigsegg-ccx1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5638387580898302402" border="0" />Koenigsegg CCX<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5dU2CZtLqps/Tj-TodyAh9I/AAAAAAAACfo/59H6oAm8Lgs/s400/koenigsegg-ccx.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5638387581889578962" border="0" />Koenigsegg CCX<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2edCSl33pxQ/Tj-ToEOnYpI/AAAAAAAACfg/5AdScsAort4/s400/Koenigsegg_CCX_parked.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5638387575030243986" border="0" />Koenigsegg CCX<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z0q7LBqJdxk/Tj-Tn1PYU9I/AAAAAAAACfY/qzelpNJa1x8/s400/koenigsegg_ccx_o.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5638387571006919634" border="0" />Koenigsegg CCX</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3872119923261644604.post-12689033999300135222011-09-20T23:37:00.000-07:002011-09-20T23:38:24.177-07:002012 Peugeot 508 RXH<strong>2012 Peugeot 508 RXH</strong>. At the Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai unveiled its motorsports program in the U.S. with the help of drift champion Rhys Millen, who will fabricate and race a 550-horsepower Genesis Coupe in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the Formula Drift Professional Drifting Championship and at select Redline Time Attack series events in 2009.<br /><br />Todays announcement puts the Genesis Coupe into three great motorsports series, said John Krafcik, acting president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. We like to refer to the Genesis Coupe as the sinister sibling to the North American Car of the Year, the Genesis sedan and we look forward to Rhys harnessing every ounce of energy in the Coupe as he campaigns it.<br /><br />Millen and his team are an ideal match to launch Hyundais racing efforts. Millens driving credentials include movie stunts, multiple drifting championships, a Pikes Peak world record and his recent New Year's Eve Las Vegas truck flip. But behind Millens success in the drivers seat is a full team of engineers and fabricators that know how to maximize the potential of a race car.<br /><br />Millen had his first opportunity to test drive the Genesis Coupes performance credentials when he performed precision driving for the cars debut advertising campaign. Millen flogged a Genesis Coupe for three days during the filming process at Road Atlanta racetrack, and the car never missed a beat.<br /><br />The Genesis Coupe Concept inspired me to seek out a relationship with Hyundai and it has developed into multiple projects, said Millen, professional race driver and founder of RMR. The immediate focus is developing the RMR Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe into a drift car with a 550-horsepower engine and a lightweight, rigid chassis. With Porsche and Lotus also showing off hy-performance hybrids the dread that surrounded the greening of the SuperCar sector with the introduction electrics to the power mix can be safely put to bed. These are exciting cars.<br /><br /><br /><br />Whereas many people were in fear that hybrid technologies would see performance compromise in the name of efficiency the truth of where the exotic car builders are going is far more exciting. Traditionally we have seen Nitrous, Turbos and Superchargers as the extra power injectors, now have to start thinking of capacitors, batteries and motors. Nitrous is dead for the new age Hot Rodders, Lx is here to stay and itself will be combined with induction and exhaust chargers for internal combustion power in an explosion of technology that will make the shrinking of mobile telephone batteries look like it took forever.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jNWNDhbNxTc/TkJcQ2d_hpI/AAAAAAAAB4M/44iURsJK7Zc/s400/2012-Ferrari-599-HY-KERS-2.jpg" border="0" height="250" width="400" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><b style="color: red;">2012 Ferrari 599 HY-KERS</b></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><br /><br /><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HBc5WRBlMJM/TkJdOzVGA0I/AAAAAAAAB4Q/Z_ULPp665Ww/s400/2012-Ferrari-599-HY-KERS-5.jpg" border="0" height="280" width="400" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><b style="color: red;">2012 Ferrari 599 HY-KERS</b></td></tr></tbody></table><br />Ferraris first toe-in the water of the Hybrid pool comes in the form of the 599 HY-KERS, a road going version of their Kinetic Energy Recovery System - or regenerative braking system used in the past seasons F1 car. The <b>Ferrari HY-KERS</b> system sees a 40kg electric motor and generator fitted in line with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and mounted below the cars center of gravity. This motor cuts in during acceleration and provides over 100 additional hp plus instant torque from standstill and during overtaking. Under braking the electric drive unit acts as a generator, using the kinetic energy generated to recharge the batteries. The torque delivery is controlled automatically via the onboard computer using grip, gear selection and accelerator pedal angle to dictate requirements. The system can also function as a full-electric drivetrain for around town driving.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NM7SxujzrsA/TkJdSrnpEjI/AAAAAAAAB4U/Lv6HJ_iVYcU/s400/2012-Ferrari+599-HY-KERS.jpg" border="0" height="250" width="400" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><b style="color: red;">2012 Ferrari 599 HY-KERS</b></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tQbKmVtT8Pc/TkJds4NiKMI/AAAAAAAAB4Y/uwNHx6sFjUA/s400/2012-Ferrari-599-HY-KERS-1.jpg" border="0" height="250" width="400" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><b style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">2012 Ferrari 599 HY-KERS</b></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><br /><br /><br /><table class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SZ_8iN-p9QQ/TkJd_M6jPBI/AAAAAAAAB4c/3NGbHlHHV1w/s400/2012-Ferrari-599-HY-KERS-4.jpg" border="0" height="266" width="400" /></span></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><b style="color: rgb(56, 118, 29);">2012 Ferrari 599 HY-KERS</b></td></tr></tbody></table><br /> The electric motor features a unique cooling and lubrication system to provide efficiency under all operating temperatures and loads. The castings for the motor are made in the Ferrari foundry and are complete with Prancing Horse logo. The system weighs just 40 kg, which is partially offset by the fact that the starter motor and conventional battery become redundant.<br /><br /><br /><br />A paramount objective for Ferrari was to maintain the balance, handling and performance characteristics of the impressive 599GTB. This was achieved by positioning all the components of the HY-KERS system below the centre of gravity, the flat lithium-ion batteries are positioned below the floorpan of the car inside the aerodynamic underbody. Should we be surprised by this? For all their products and upgrades, the only thing we’re surprised at is that they haven’t done more than they have. That’s how awesome these guys from Hennessey are.</p><p class="spip">This upgrade for the Corvette Z06 perfectly illustrates that point. They’re not so much about the flair of aesthetics, although they’ve been known on occasion to offer some fancy dress-ups. For the most part, these guys are all about performance and when you factor in this newest project, you’ll begin to understand why Hennessey is widely respected in the tuning world.</p><p class="spip"><br /></p><p class="spip"></p><div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><br /><p><img src="https://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/TteuVkXLJD01V5fdcbmjf33yH3c/F3cTgs3gbrQvqwnDwWAPlL0w0_w/0/pi" ismap="true" border="0" /><br /><img src="https://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/TteuVkXLJD01V5fdcbmjf33yH3c/F3cTgs3gbrQvqwnDwWAPlL0w0_w/1/pi" ismap="true" border="0" /></p></div> <p style="margin: 1em 0pt 3px;"> <span class="Apple-style-span" >Audi Urban E-Tron Concept</span> </p> <p style="margin: 9px 0pt 3px; color: rgb(85, 85, 85); font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px;"> <span>Posted:</span> 10 Aug 2011 05:00 AM PDT</p> <div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><p></p><div class="keywords_top"><p class="footer_text"> Posted on 08.10.2011 12:00 by Kirby<br />Filed under: Audi | concept cars | Frankfurt Auto Show | electric cars | Audi E-tron | Cars | Car Reviews | Audi</p></div><p><img src="http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/audi-urban-e-tron-co_460x0w.jpg" alt="" border="0" vspace="1" width="460" /><br /></p> <p></p><p class="spip">A few days ago, a mysterious Audi prototype was spotted in Berlin decked in camouflage, leading to the proverbial question as to what kind of car it was. Fortunately, the mystery didn’t last long.</p><p class="spip">The German automaker has released the first sketches of its new Urban E-Tron Concept that will be gracing us with its presence at the coming Frankfurt Motor Show. It’s a little hard to piece together what the disguised version looked like a few days ago, but thanks to these sketches, we now we have a pretty good idea on what to expect.</p><p class="spip">The whole concept is designed to look the part of a sleek and futuristic city car that’s built on a 1+1 set-up. According to Audi, the car is built using a central carbon fiber monococque with a canopy that slides horizontally, allowing both the driver and the passenger to enter the car. As for the cockpit and its aforementioned 1+1 set-up, Audi constructed the former using carbon fiber-reinforced polymer, a material that was designed to integrate the undercarriage of both seats. Speaking of the seats and the odd configuration, the driver will be seated on the front left side with the passenger seated in the back on the opposite side. Another striking feature of the Urban E-Tron Concept, which pretty much highlights its eccentric physical make-up, is a set of huge 21" wheels.</p><p class="spip">Audi has yet to release more details about the car, including performance figures, but it did say that the car will be powered by two E-Tron electric motors that take their energy from a lithium-ion battery.</p><p class="spip">Lack of details notwithstanding, we’ll find out all we need to know about the car when the Frankfurt Motor Show opens its doors in less than a month’s time.</p> <p style="border: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); padding: 5px; background: rgb(221, 221, 221) none repeat scroll 0%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial; clear: both;">Audi Urban E-Tron Concept originally appeared on topspeed.com on Wednesday, 10 August 2011 12:00 EST.</p> <p>read more</p> <hr /><br /><p><img src="https://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/TteuVkXLJD01V5fdcbmjf33yH3c/v5m8NRk1t8oHwLioevi93K0Ewrk/0/pi" ismap="true" border="0" /><br /><img src="https://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/TteuVkXLJD01V5fdcbmjf33yH3c/v5m8NRk1t8oHwLioevi93K0Ewrk/1/pi" ismap="true" border="0" /></p></div> <p style="margin: 1em 0pt 3px;"> <span class="Apple-style-span" >Infiniti FX</span> </p> <p style="margin: 9px 0pt 3px; color: rgb(85, 85, 85); font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px;"> <span>Posted:</span> 10 Aug 2011 04:00 AM PDT</p> <div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><p></p><div class="keywords_top"><p class="footer_text"> Posted on 08.10.2011 11:00 by Simona<br />Filed under: Infiniti | suv | Infiniti FX | $40K-$50K | Cars | Car Reviews | Infiniti</p></div><p><img src="http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2012-infiniti-fx35_460x0w.jpg" alt="" border="0" vspace="1" width="460" /><br /></p> <p></p><p class="spip">The Infiniti FX is the Nissan-owned company’s mid-size luxury crossover SUV. The new 3-Series Touring is expected to make its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show with sales on the US market following shortly thereafter.</p><p class="spip">The full line of 3-Series Touring models will include sedan, station wagon, coupe, convertible, and M3 versions. The new generation won’t just be bringing a new design language, but it will also host a new family of aluminum four-cylinder gasoline engines ranging from 135 to 245 HP.</p><p class="spip">The exterior design of the new 3-Series Touring will bring a fresher appearance with a front end inspired by the latest 5- and 7-Series models, plus the company’s latest kidney grille. The interior will offer more luxury and will lose the center hump that houses the current model’s optional navigation system.</p><p class="spip">As for the engine line-up, depending on the market, expect to see a full line of both diesel and petrol engines, with the addition of a new generation of modular, four-cylinder engines. These new engines will be able to deliver between 140 HP to 230 HP, with a 2.0 engine going up to 300 HP. Whether or not BMW has opted to drop the six-cylinder engines in favor of the new four cylinders is a question still left unanswered. Fuel economy is still the name of the game for most automakers, so this is a good possibility. In fact, the next 3-Series will also be coming in a hybrid version that will add two electric motors for a 20% improvement in fuel consumption.</p><div id="content"> <div class="postgallery"> <h3 class="clearfix"><span>gallery:</span> 2009 BMW 3-Series </h3> <br /> <ul id="thumbs"> <li><img src="http://pictures01.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200807/2009-bmw-3-series-15_180x130w.jpg" alt="bmw 3-series-256056" height="116" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures02.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200807/2009-bmw-3-series-19_180x130w.jpg" alt="bmw 3-series-256060" height="119" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures00.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200807/2009-bmw-3-series-16_180x130w.jpg" alt="bmw 3-series-256057" height="120" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures01.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200807/2009-bmw-3-series-17_180x130w.jpg" alt="bmw 3-series-256058" height="118" width="180" /></li> </ul> </div> </div> <p style="border: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); padding: 5px; background: rgb(221, 221, 221) none repeat scroll 0%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial; clear: both;">BMW 3-Series Touring originally appeared on topspeed.com on Wednesday, 10 August 2011 10:00 EST.</p> <hr /><br /><p><img src="https://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/TteuVkXLJD01V5fdcbmjf33yH3c/ZeeRB53hXSMZmTjUPTJAPmfE7DQ/0/pi" ismap="true" border="0" /><br /><img src="https://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/TteuVkXLJD01V5fdcbmjf33yH3c/ZeeRB53hXSMZmTjUPTJAPmfE7DQ/1/pi" ismap="true" border="0" /></p></div> <p style="margin: 1em 0pt 3px;"> <span class="Apple-style-span" >Anne Hathaway aka Catwoman will be riding the Bat-Pod</span> </p> <p style="margin: 9px 0pt 3px; color: rgb(85, 85, 85); font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px;"> <span>Posted:</span> 10 Aug 2011 02:00 AM PDT</p> <div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><p></p><div class="keywords_top"><p class="footer_text"> Posted on 08.10.2011 09:00 by Simona<br />Filed under: Lamborghini | Celebrity Cars | Lamborghini Aventador | car movies | Motorcycles | Motorcycle News</p></div><p><img src="http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/anne-hathaway-aka-ca_460x0w.jpg" alt="" border="0" vspace="1" width="460" /><br /></p> <p></p><p class="spip">The next Dark Knight film, "The Dark Knight Rises," will star Anne Hathaway as the Catwoman. The F152 will be powered by a modified version of the great 6.3 liter V12 with direct injection and will probably only be combined with rear-wheel-drive. Power is expected to climb close to 700 HP, if not more, and will connect to the rear wheels via the new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.</p><p class="spip">When the body does get put into place, the F152 will make intense use of aluminum and carbon fiber making it a true sports car.</p><div id="content"> <div class="postgallery"> <h3 class="clearfix"><span>gallery:</span> 2013 Ferrari 599 Replacement </h3> <br /> <ul id="thumbs"> <li><img src="http://pictures01.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-9_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412058" height="121" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures02.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-11_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412060" height="121" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures00.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-12_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412061" height="121" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures01.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-8_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412057" height="121" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures02.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-10_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412059" height="121" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures00.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-13_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412062" height="121" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures01.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-14_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412063" height="120" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures02.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-ferrari-599-replacem-15_180x130w.jpg" alt="ferrari 599 replacement-412064" height="121" width="180" /></li> </ul> </div> </div> <p style="border: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); padding: 5px; background: rgb(221, 221, 221) none repeat scroll 0%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial; clear: both;">Spy Shots: Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Successor gets its Insides Checked originally appeared on topspeed.com on Wednesday, 10 August 2011 08:30 EST.</p></div><p></p></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3872119923261644604.post-42272416344632811162011-09-20T23:24:00.000-07:002011-09-20T23:25:10.659-07:00Subaru XV<div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Filed under: Subaru | Frankfurt Auto Show | crossover | Subaru Impreza | 2011 | Cars | Car Reviews | Subaru</div><div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><p><img src="http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/subaru-xv_460x0w.jpg" alt="" border="0" vspace="1" width="460" /><br /></p> <p></p><p class="spip"><b>Subaru</b> is making a quick turnaround with its <b>XV Concept</b> car by offering up a production model in the same year. Next to it, Subaru will also be offering the latest Symmetrical AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system.</p><p class="spip">More details will be revealed at the car’s official launch in September.</p><div id="content"> <div class="postgallery"> <h3 class="clearfix"><span>gallery:</span> 2011 Subaru XV Concept </h3> <br /> <ul id="thumbs"> <li><img src="http://pictures01.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201104/2011-subaru-xv-concept-1_180x130w.jpg" alt="subaru xv concept-399295" height="113" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures02.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201104/2011-subaru-xv-concept_180x130w.jpg" alt="subaru xv concept-399294" height="120" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures00.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201104/2011-subaru-xv-concept-7_180x130w.jpg" alt="subaru xv concept-399301" height="118" width="180" /></li> <li><img src="http://pictures01.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201104/2011-subaru-xv-concept-9_180x130w.jpg" alt="subaru xv concept-399303" height="118" width="180" /></li></ul></div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3872119923261644604.post-64796366453254031812011-09-20T23:22:00.000-07:002011-09-20T23:24:16.831-07:00<div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: normal; font-size: large; ">BMW 7-Series</span></p></div> <p style="margin: 9px 0pt 3px; color: rgb(85, 85, 85); font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px;"> <span>Posted:</span> 10 Aug 2011 08:00 AM PDT</p> <div style="margin: 0pt; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; line-height: 140%; font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><p></p><div class="keywords_top"><p class="footer_text"> Posted on 08.10.2011 15:00 by Simona<br />Filed under: BMW | sedan | BMW 7-Series | luxury cars | Cars | Car Reviews | BMW</p></div><p><img src="http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201108/2013-bmw-7-series-facelif_460x0w.jpg" alt="" border="0" vspace="1" width="460" /><br /></p> <p></p><p class="spip">The current generation <b>BMW 7-Series</b> was only launched a couple of years ago, but with Mercedes tackling their S-Class with modifications improving fuel efficiency, as well as design, BMW had limited time to freshen up the competition. Although the battle for the top spot is currently firmly held by the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport which is the worlds fastest and most expensive supercar on the road today.</div><div style="overflow: hidden;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BGiG1zZaeeA/Tl9NgW8khtI/AAAAAAAAAA0/Rs8eKGiDMsM/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento2.jpg" border="0" height="195" width="320" /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> However Lamborghini has its sights on the Bugatti to take the place of the most expensive supercar with its pricey offering the "Lamborghini Sesto Elemento" its name translated meaning the "Sixth Element". Although the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento sells new for around £1.77 million ($2.90m), where the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport sells new for over £1.62 million ($2.5m), where as the standard Bugatti Veyron is a mere snip at £1.45m.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7fmYGxnmtwY/Tl9NhSlllfI/AAAAAAAAAA4/FLHwxnNb3RA/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento3.jpg" border="0" height="194" width="320" /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento all sounds good on paper, but there is one small problem, it will never be road legal. This is due to the fact that design wise Lamborgini have opted for the Sesto Elemento to be primarily constructed with a carbon fibre body and chassis with many other weight saving and space age materials used in the cars' construction. This is why there is such a weight saving and this is the reason for the bulging price tag. It is reputedly aimed at the super rich as a play toy for track days at racing circuits.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-maMIqeqiLlc/Tl9NiI7eUBI/AAAAAAAAAA8/ZbcTLVcy45Y/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento4.jpg" border="0" height="212" width="320" /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> This weight saving is desirable for optimising the power to weight ratio for the car witch translates into faster acceleration, the Sesto Elemento is designed to accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100kph) in under 2.5 seconds which is faster than most road going sports motor bikes. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport still holds its own within the same acceleration speed, but you have to bare in mind the Veyron is carrying over 1,800lbs more than the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. This is a testament to the Bugatti's remarkable engineering and design, add this to the fact that Veyron will still hold the coveted "fastest road legal car in the world" and it still retains a strong position, it is really just the price that in contention here</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iyyjcWrgBuY/Tl9NjBmqOVI/AAAAAAAAABA/2L4f2v5wLbY/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento5.jpg" border="0" height="201" width="320" /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> I feel the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento will definitely have a core following and no doubt the exclusively and extremely limited 35 models for sale will sell out very quickly even at this price range. This is mostly about a status symbol and prowess of engineering than anything else. As the Bugatti Veyron gives overall better value (if it's possible to use that term?) because it can be used for both legal daily road driving in every country in the world and if you are rich enough you can also make it into a track car, the choice is yours (if you have the cash to splash).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-N-R4OSJPnQM/Tl9NkC-Ea1I/AAAAAAAAABE/CHC4LTB8io0/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento6.jpg" border="0" height="212" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ERS31izCMEY/Tl9NkzhIhWI/AAAAAAAAABI/AbBgpI3dqdo/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento7.jpg" border="0" height="212" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0G2WVROkMOo/Tl9Nl7tpZ6I/AAAAAAAAABM/e-SFWwpjrKg/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento8.jpg" border="0" height="212" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UG7jESgdjFc/Tl9NmSu70WI/AAAAAAAAABQ/lH034IMSPK8/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento9.jpg" border="0" height="182" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PXfRJ_qEpIM/Tl9NnW9-P4I/AAAAAAAAABU/8zGfPf8_Pr8/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento10.jpg" border="0" height="212" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i04UANwfS3o/Tl9NnzYaOxI/AAAAAAAAABY/Z2ZTUWiXG0s/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento11.jpg" border="0" height="194" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-39nX4Wkn8xM/Tl9NpVnSP6I/AAAAAAAAABc/E4AcKw5Fdw4/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento12.jpg" border="0" height="240" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_427foi3xoc/Tl9NqKS4mvI/AAAAAAAAABg/tQxQc3aoz1o/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento13.jpg" border="0" height="212" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HxukiDmQ888/Tl9NrF4BjGI/AAAAAAAAABk/UDF3xS1taBg/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento14.jpg" border="0" height="214" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qQdz9r04kZk/Tl9Nr7QloTI/AAAAAAAAABo/dXw2SPsmM9M/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento15.jpg" border="0" height="188" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3qFUPstlfRY/Tl9Ntmozl1I/AAAAAAAAABs/QjhZBwr_THU/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento16.jpg" border="0" height="240" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sDdWpvN11sc/Tl9NuQBTJBI/AAAAAAAAABw/N7yPikjx7QU/s320/lamborghini+sesto+elemento17.jpg" border="0" height="213" width="320" /></span></div><br /><div style="clear: both;"></div> </div> <div class="post-footer"> <div class="post-footer-line post-footer-line-1"><br /></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3872119923261644604.post-23272681234134365442011-09-20T23:19:00.000-07:002011-09-20T23:21:35.883-07:00Latest in Luxury Cars in 2012<div style="text-align: center;"><b>Latest in Luxury Cars in 2012</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">In 2012 the world’s leading car manufacturers create the latest innovation of design and luxury cars, of course, much more perfect than in the previous year. prepare yourself with the latest styles and designs on your car in 2012. Although Infiniti likes to call the all-new EX35 a “coupe-crossover” we fail to see the resemblance so we’ll just use the term compact SUV. Roughly the size of a Toyota RAV4 (182.3 inches/4631 mm in length), the EX35 will go on sale in the US at the end of this year equipped with the fourth-generation VQ35HR 3.5-liter V6 engine (shared with the new G35 Saloon), rated at 290 Hp and a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.<o:p></o:p></span> <p><span style="">Infiniti’s all-wheel drive SUV will also find its way across the pond as the Japanese carmaker will launch its European assault in the third quarter of 2008. Four models will be available in Europe from launch: the G saloon, the G coupe, the EX and a successor to the FX to be unveiled next year. Apart from a V6 petrol unit, the European EX will also be offered with a V6 diesel engine. <span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">-Press release and high-res image gallery after the jump</span></span></span></p> <span class="fullpost"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 239px; height: 155px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/RsRfw1uxYSI/AAAAAAAAQ7U/gTwU8EqBOzU/s320/Carscoop_InfEX35_14.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099305970751856930" border="0" /><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 239px; height: 155px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/RsRfzVuxYTI/AAAAAAAAQ7c/adedjMN4IVk/s320/Carscoop_InfEX35_15.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099306013701529906" border="0" /><br /><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span> <p><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 155px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/RsRfrFuxYQI/AAAAAAAAQ7E/NnP-ELrybp8/s320/Carscoop_InfEX35_12.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099305871967609090" border="0" /><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 239px; height: 155px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/RsRfsFuxYRI/AAAAAAAAQ7M/2-f9Tr7B0xc/s320/Carscoop_InfEX35_13.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099305889147478290" border="0" /></p><p><b style=""><span style="color: rgb(192, 0, 0);"><br /></span></b></p><p><b style=""><span style="color: rgb(192, 0, 0);">PRESS RELEASE: All new 2008 Infiniti EX coming to Europe</span></b><b style=""><span style="color: rgb(192, 0, 0);"><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><b style=""><span style="">EX revealed 16 August at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance</span></b><b style=""><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><b style=""><span style="">Innovative Coupe Crossover concept</span></b><b style=""><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><b style=""><span style="">Standard ‘ATTESA E-TS’ all-wheel drive</span></b><b style=""><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><b style=""><span style="">Powered by a 3.5-litre 290hp V6 (US specification)</span></b><b style=""><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><b style=""><span style="">First introduction of the advanced Around View Monitor system</span></b><b style=""><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><b style=""><span style="">To be launched progressively across Europe starting from Autumn 2008 together with the G Saloon, G Coupe and a successor to the iconic FX </span></b><b style=""><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><span style="">ROLLE, SWITZERLAND (16.08.07): The all-new 2008 Infiniti EX coupe crossover, revealed this week at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, will form part of a four model premium range that will be launched across Europe starting from Autumn 2008. </span><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style="">The EX is a new addition to the global Infiniti range. To be badged EX35 when it goes on sale in the US at the end of this year, this all-wheel drive crossover slots in below the iconic FX and offers an exceptional combination of seductive design, elegant interior and advanced technology systems. These include the world production car debut of the advanced Around View Monitor (AVM) system, which utilizes four small cameras to give the driver a “top-down view” of the outside of the vehicle while parking. The new EX35 also becomes the second Infiniti production vehicle, following the Autumn introduction in the US of the 2008 Infiniti M-series, to offer the new Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system, and the first to feature “Scratch Shield,” a special “self-healing” clearcoat paint. Sleek lines portray speed, grace and finesse combining the look and feel of a luxury coupe with the elevated cabin of a 4x4. </span><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style="">The sporty proportions include a long hood, short front and rear overhangs, rearward cabin and smooth coupe-like roofline arching over the windows to the C-pillars.<br />“The EX35 is the perfect fusion of a luxury coupe and a sporty 4x4,” said Jim Wright, Vice President Infiniti Europe. </span><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style="">The EX35 has a length of 4631mm and a width of 1803mm making it maneuverable in town. Other exterior features include a high-mounted rear hatchback spoiler, chrome-finished dual exhaust pipes, an available power tilt/sliding sunroof with one-touch activation and optional roof rails and crossbars. The EX35 also features a standard puddle lamp integrated in the driver’s side door mirror as part of the Hospitality Lighting Concept.<br />Eight exterior colors will be offered including two shades new to the model.</span><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style="">One of the unique features of the new EX35 is the special “Scratch Shield,” a special “self-healing” clearcoat paint, which is designed to maintain its gloss-level over time. The paint repairs fine scratches, such as fingernail scratches under door handles, restoring the EX35’s surface close to the original state. The process, which takes anywhere from one day to one week (depending on the surrounding temperature and the depth of the scratch), is accomplished through the use of a special highly elastic resin. This resin is combined with a conventional clearcoat to increase the paint’s flexibility and strength by raising the resin density. </span><span style=""><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><b style=""><span style="color: rgb(192, 0, 0);">Elegant Interior Design</span></b><b style=""><span style="color: rgb(192, 0, 0);"><o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p><span style="">Like all Infiniti vehicles, the EX35 is conceived to offer an invigorating and engaging interior environment. display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/RgwdE2N_--I/AAAAAAAAGoo/ccZdNFKLg_Q/s400/Carscoop_InfinitiEX_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047441251486399458" border="0" /><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:Tahoma;">Infiniti just came out with the official press release of its <st1:state st="on"><st1:place st="on">New York</st1:place></st1:state> Show EX concept. Measuring at 185.2 inches/4630 mm in length, the EX is practically a pre-production model and according to Infiniti, it will go on sale in <st1:place st="on">North America</st1:place> in late 2007. Infiniti’s BMW X3 rival will also find its way to the European market in 2008 where along with the 3.5 V6 petrol there’s the possibility of a diesel option, too. Finally it's worth mentioning that the EX is highlighted by two systems that are said to be a world first:<br /><br /></span><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:100%;" lang="EN-GB"><span style="color: rgb(153, 0, 0);">-</span><span>the around View Monitor utilises small front, side and rear-mounted cameras to project an all-around view of potential objects on every side of the vehicle – helping reduce blind spots when parking.<br /><br /></span></span><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:100%;" lang="EN-GB"><span style="color: rgb(153, 0, 0);">-</span>the next-gen Lane Departure Prevention system uses the vehicle’s Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system to help assist the driver in maintaining lane position if the vehicle inadvertently starts to move outside of the lane.</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><b style=""><i style=""><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> -Continued: Click “Read More…” below to see the press release & more high-res pics</span></i></b></span> <span class="fullpost"><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:85%;"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 228px; height: 148px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/Rgwcp2N_-8I/AAAAAAAAGoY/2fFScKgT7lo/s320/Carscoop_InfinitiEX_2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047440787629931458" border="0" /><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 244px; height: 148px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/RgwcqmN_-9I/AAAAAAAAGog/X_4pBzdtHuw/s320/Carscoop_InfinitiEX_3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047440800514833362" border="0" /></span><br /><b style=""><i style=""><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p> <p style="text-align: center;" align="center"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;">PRESS RELEASE<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:85%;"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB">INFINITI EX CONCEPT FEATURES COUPE-INSPIRED SUV DESIGN, WORLD DEBUT OF TWO ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES</span></u></b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></u></span></p> <p style="text-align: center;" align="center"><span style="font-weight: bold;font-size:85%;"><i><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:Tahoma;">– </span></i></span><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Stylish Design Concept Previews New Infiniti Production Crossover SUV</span><i style="font-weight: bold;"> –</i><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The Infiniti EX Concept, which makes its world debut at the 2007 New York International Auto Show, follows in the tradition of previous Infiniti design studies with its combination of seductive design, elegant interior and advanced technology systems – including an advanced Around View Monitor (AVM) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system. And, like many of the Infiniti concepts that have come before, the new EX Concept is a very real preview of an upcoming production vehicle – the 2008 Infiniti EX crossover SUV.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">“The Infiniti FX, M and most recently the new 2008 G Coupe, can all trace their evolution from show stoppers to Infiniti showrooms in a short period of time,” said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division, Nissan North America, Inc. “With this stunning EX Concept, we’re pleased to announce that along with the basic exterior and interior designs, the production Infiniti EX will include much of the EX Concept’s innovative technology, including the Around View Monitor and Lane Departure Prevention.”<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/Rg2RR2N__yI/AAAAAAAAGvM/xOYdob3ieNc/s400/Carscoop_EX_Concept12.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047850493150232354" border="0" /></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:Tahoma;"><b style=""><br /></b></span><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 146px; height: 85px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/Rg2QwWN__wI/AAAAAAAAGu8/yTdPZu59gYo/s200/Carscoop_EX_Concept14.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047849917624614658" border="0" /><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 145px; height: 85px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/Rg2QwGN__vI/AAAAAAAAGu0/gnPM2Xmplt4/s200/Carscoop_EX_Concept13.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047849913329647346" border="0" /><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 169px; height: 85px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/Rg2Qw2N__xI/AAAAAAAAGvE/Z_W6Jm7a660/s200/Carscoop_EX_Concept15.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047849926214549266" border="0" /></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:85%;"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB"><br /></span></u></b></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:85%;"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB">Coupe-Inspired Exterior</span></u></b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></u></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The EX Concept’s sculpted elegance expresses a timeless appeal – sleek lines that portray speed, grace and finesse. Its layout combines the look and feel of a luxury coupe – including short front and rear overhangs – and the ample interior roominess, optimised seating height and luggage space of an SUV.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">“The EX Concept is the perfect fusion of a luxury coupe and a high-utility SUV,” said Igo. “Its ‘right-sized’ packaging gives it excellent around town manoeuvrability, while the wide rear hatch and low load floor make it a versatile performer for everyday and weekend use.”<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The EX Concept exterior includes many signature Infiniti touches, including the double-arch grille, large L-shaped headlights with Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS), integrated fog lights, distinctive LED taillights and “dynamic arch” profile. The exterior also features a high-mounted rear hatchback spoiler.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">Special features created especially for the EX Concept are the all-in-one sash-style side door mirrors with integrated LED turn signals and electric outside door handles with push switches. The EX Concept also includes paint and 19-inch 7-spoke aluminium alloy wheels mounted with 245/55R19 tyres.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The most striking exterior design element of the EX Concept is its dramatic liquid crystal full-length glass roof panel that is able to change from transparent to translucent via input from a special touch sensor system.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">“The EX Concept’s glass roof technology is a fascinating study in how technology can be utilised to change the entire interior atmosphere of a vehicle by adding or subtracting not just light, but the occupants’ view of the outside world,” said Igo.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:85%;"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB">Elegant Interior Design</span></u></b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></u></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">Like all Infiniti vehicles, the EX Concept is conceived to offer a reinvigorating and engaging interior environment, one that is both indulgent and inspiring. The “wave-inspired” cabin layout is focused on the driver, with easy-to-read high-contrast gauges with violet-colour illumination and an electric soft-touch shifter system. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The EX Concept’s rich, leather-appointed and aluminum-alloy trimmed interior also offers plenty of passenger luxury – with deep, supportive seats and an ambient lighting system that includes special indirect headrest illumination. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">A large, leather-appointed centre console box provides utility for driver and front passenger, while the instrument panel includes a wide LCD monitor and signature Infiniti analogue clock. The advanced audio system includes aluminium speaker finishers, matching the door-side trim. The roomy rear cargo area combines function with design with its aluminum-alloy flooring with luggage rails. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">“The EX Concept’s interior is all about driving pleasure and passenger comfort,” said Igo. “Like the exterior, it offers a coupe-like feel but surprising utility – ideal for today’s active lifestyles.”<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:85%;"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB">Advanced Platform and Powertrain</span></u></b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></u></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">Under the EX Concept’s dramatic body is an equally advanced platform and powertrain based on the latest Infiniti production hardware. Its advanced FM platform provides the same high levels of handling precision and balance as it does for the Infiniti M, FX and G Coupe and <st1:city st="on"><st1:place st="on">Sedan</st1:place></st1:city>. For use in the EX Concept, the wheelbase has been shortened to 112.0 inches for a small turning radius, while the rear multi-link suspension utilises a low shock absorber layout to enhance cargo area utility. It rides on 19-inch 7-spoke aluminium-alloy wheels with 245/55R19 tyres.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The EX Concept is powered by a V6 engine, coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The EX Concept also includes an all-wheel drive system.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:85%;"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB">The World Debut of Two New Technologies</span></u></b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></u></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The EX Concept’s advanced technology design is highlighted by two systems that are expected to be the first production versions in the world when the new Infiniti EX goes on sale in <st1:place st="on">North America</st1:place> in late 2007. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The Infiniti Around View Monitor utilises small front, side and rear-mounted cameras to project an all-around view of potential objects on every side of the vehicle – helping reduce blind spots when parking.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">“Conventional mirrors, no matter how carefully you use them, just can’t provide a view around the vehicle that the Around View Monitor’s four-camera system does,” said Igo. “Rear bumper sonar systems help detect objects behind a vehicle, but again they can’t give the view of the space around the vehicle that the AVM does.”<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The Lane Departure Prevention system builds on the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system that is currently available on the Infiniti FX and M. Rather than just use an audible/visual warning system to alert the driver of unintentional vehicle movement outside the designated lane, the LDP system uses the vehicle’s Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system to help assist the driver in maintaining lane position if the vehicle inadvertently starts to drift outside of the lane. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">Both Lane Departure Prevention and the LDW systems use a small camera installed behind the windscreen to detect lane markers in front of the vehicle and calculate its position relative to lane markers and warn the driver of lane drift (pending lane change without use of the turn signal) with a visual display and audible buzzer. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">If the driver does not return the vehicle in the direction of the centre of the travel lane, the LDP system assists the driver by using gentle control (generating part of the necessary yaw movement), using the VDC’s brake actuator to control the brake pressure of each individual wheel to generate the intended movement..<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">“Infiniti has taken a leadership position in offering the first production Lane Departure Warning systems for production vehicles. We’re now poised to take the next big step with the upcoming EX’s Lane Departure Prevention system,” said Igo. “We’re confident that the production Infiniti EX will be just as stylish, dramatic, luxurious and innovative as this EX Concept show vehicle. The line continues to be drawn.”<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">The Infiniti EX Concept was created at the <st1:placename st="on">Nissan</st1:placename> <st1:placename st="on">Technical</st1:placename> <st1:placetype st="on">Center</st1:placetype> in <st1:place st="on"><st1:city st="on">Atsugi</st1:city>, <st1:country-region st="on">Japan</st1:country-region></st1:place>.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:85%;"><b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB">About Infiniti</span></u></b><u><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;color:maroon;" lang="EN-GB"><o:p></o:p></span></u></span></p> <p><span style=";font-family:Tahoma;font-size:85%;" lang="EN-GB">Infiniti offers a full-line of luxury performance automobiles, including the G sports coupe and sedan, the M luxury performance sedan, FX premium crossover SUV, and the QX full-size luxury SUV.
